15 Best Straight Leg Jeans of 2026, According to Fashion Editors

15 Best Straight Leg Jeans of 2026, According to Fashion Editors

Your classic straight leg made of non-stretch 100 percent regenerative cotton. I own an embarrassing amount of denim. Truly. But I wear these multiple times a week. There’s a really good medium indigo wash with subtle fade, and these hold their structure. Super flattering in the bum, not too tight in the hip and thigh, so that it’s an actual straight leg from the hip down. Also, at my 5’5 stature, the inseam hits perfectly below the ankle so these aren’t too cropped, nor do they require a trip to the tailor for a better fit.

Fan Favorite

AYR The Legend

It’s not hyperbole to call this one of the most buzzed about pairs of denim on the internet. Known for a cinching, high rise waist that lifts the bum and holds you in, the thing that sets these apart (aside from the very good dark wash, which makes them look so elevated) is the slim straight leg. It’s sleek—and there’s not that dreaded extra fabric that can sometimes bunch. Even better, for those that prefer a bit of stretch in their denim, these have it.

Casual Elegance

Jamie Haller The Easy in Raw Rinse

It’s hard to understate how wonderful Jamie Haller’s denim is in general. But this silhouette in particular, with a soft drape and easy straight leg meant to be relaxed on the hips, is that perfect elegant without too much polish pair. An off-duty silhouette when you want to look chic, but unfussy.

Budget Buy

Gap High Rise ’90s Slim Straight Jeans

Gap denim is back and better than ever. Why not take their slim straight silhouette for a spin, and also fill the gap in your wardrobe with a good pair of black jeans. Every wardrobe needs one.

Editor-Obsessed

Aflalo Orwell Jean in Rigid Denim

I own the Orwell in white, so I can attest that the fit and the shape that these give your legs is best in class. All of the washes are good, but the rigid denim style looks particularly elevated in this earthy tone. Looks like it’s time to get into brown denim!

The ‘70s Fit

Dôen Laurent Jean

Collectors of vintage denim will tell you that it’s the fit—not too much cling, but the right amount of curve—that sets it apart. For those that seek that in a pair of jeans but perhaps don’t want to commit to the search, Doên has accomplished the task. These have that cool true straight leg fit, like your favorite style inspiration would wear them, and are particularly good for those who carry their weight in their hips and thighs.

The Cool-Girl Jean

Still Here Childhood

We love Still Here’s fun and off-the beaten path stylings, but their simple straight leg, with a wedgie fit in the bum and extra high-rise for a little waist cinch, paired with that cool relaxed leg are nothing to scoff at.

Mid-Rise

Agolde Harper Straight Jean (Stretch)

Another fan favorite, this Agolde classic offers a mid-rise and a leg lengthening fit, all with just the right amount of stretch. A great pair of jeans for a night out.

The Cult-Classic

Khaite Abigail Jean

Khaite denim has a reputation that precedes itself. Anyone who truly loves denim, owns at least a pair, most likely the Abigail silhouette. Between the cropped fit and the high-rise, these jeans are perfectly proportional.

Selvedge

Buck Mason Japanese Loomstate Selvedge Original Jean

True denim obsessees know that when it comes to a pair of jeans, selvedge (a finishing technique that prevents fraying) sets the standard for high quality. All of Buck Mason’s denim for women is amazing, but the Original Jean has that perfectly faded lived in look that is almost impossible to replicate.

The Neutral

Levi’s 501® Original Fit Women’s Jeans

Inspired by Morgan Stewart McGraw, I recently became convinced that every woman needs a classic straight leg fit in a neutral tone in their arsenal. Case in point, when the style maven wore the iconic 501 in this taupe hue last summer, they sold out in an instant. Don’t worry though, these work year round.

Slightly Cropped

rag & bone Harlow Ankle Straight Jeans

Premium denim has been rag & bone’s bread and butter since its founding, so right off the bat you know you’re getting your money’s worth with any pair you purchase. Especially the Harlow, a best-selling mid-rise style that’s fitted through the thigh and crafted from the brand’s signature Vintage Stretch denim, which gives off a rigid look but actually has a hint of stretch. And because they have a slightly cropped leg (the inseam falls at 28.5 inches), they’re a great option for petite women.

Sleek & Slim

Nili Lotan High-Rise Non-Stretch Straight Leg Denim

Nili Lotan offers everything you could want and need in a straight leg pair: premium Japanese non-stretch denim with a high-rise fit and a clean silhouette that delivers slimming effect to the body. Three words: Legs for days.

Buzzy Brand

Ossou Noon Jean in Dusk Wash

Don’t underestimate the power of good dark indigo wash. It can be dressed casually with knits and boots, but can easily be dressed up with a major blazer or clutch. The up-and-coming denim brand Ossou does a good job with these. They offer a high-waisted fit with an elongated leg and are made of rigid Japanese denim that gets softer with every wear.

Every wardrobe could also use white jeans, and this pair ticks all our boxes. High-rise? Check. Straight leg? Double check. Rigid denim? You bet. With these, you get the fashion girl fit, just the right amount of fabric without giving a wide leg or baggy silhouette. Why is this key? Because it makes them look super expensive, of course.
